Overview
So you’ve already installed and set up your WordPress theme for your website and blog, but you need to make it “yours” or you’ve hit a few roadblocks – not all the changes you want to make are available as part of theme options – then this class is for you.
In this class you will learn basic customization of the WordPress theme and overall website and/or blog, – understand basic css customizations allowing you to make your changes including changing the style – look and feel – of your website and blog. These changes include: Color, Font,( include style, characteristics, size, remove WordPress copyright footer, etc).

Private (One-on-One) Class
Class Description
Instructor will provide complete step-by-step directions on how to customize WordPress website and/or blog, including changing the style – look and feel.
Prior to attending class, you must select the theme that you will use for your website / blog. Remember you can always laterchange your mind – change your theme – at anytime – this will not erase your content.

- Using Custom CSS
- CSS incl. web browser development tools (Chrome + Firefox)
(3) Child Themes
- Setting up and using a Child Theme (plugin)
(4) Block editor: Blocks and Patterns + plugin add-ons
General Information
In order to take this class, you must have
- existing self-hosted WordPress website and/or blog. [ NOT WordPress.com]
- Laptop with Wi-Fi capability and electrical power cord

- After registering for an online WordPress class, you will receive 2 emails: (1) immediately: receipt of payment; and (2) within 24 hours: online link for the class.

- Once you receive the link, please follow the instructions. - You must have a self hosted website to participate. [ NOT wordpress.com ] If you do not have a domain + hosting, we will help you with the setup process. *Please let us know at least 24 hours before class by email if you need assistance with obtaining domain + hosting or any issues. - Please verify passwords for your WordPress website admin (and hosting) *Please let us know at least 24 hours before class by email if you need assistance. We will schedule a private session with you prior to class to help you with this and any other pre-class issues.
- You should log into the class link at least 5 minutes before the start time.
- Remember: this is a hands-on instructor-led class, so feel free to participate .. ask questions at any time.
